also...this place is banking. you have to pay before they will see your animal. major's treatment was "only" 1K...some people were paying THOUSANDS. craziness...but what choice do you have right? major ended up spending 2 nights there. pancreatitis. IV and a catheder the entire time. i had to go get him this morning before 7 a.m...they are only an after hours facility. come monday, you have to pick your animal up and take him to his regular vet. no problem. i get there @ 6:30...they hand him over to me and say he still has his catheder and IV in so that the vet doesn't have to redo it all. ok...that sounds fine. i still have an hour before the vet opens so i take major home. the kids are still sleeping so i hop in the shower. i get out of the shower and walk into what looks like a crime scene. major is in my bedroom surrounded by a pool of blood...probably 1 ft in diameter. he has undone one end of the IV...so that blood is just pumping out of the tube onto the floor. OMG. i am freaking out...is he going to bleed to death? i have no idea how to fix it so i put a plastic bag around his leg and stick him in my half bath. the kids are now awake. did i mention i don't have a car? 2 kids, a dog that is bleeding to death and no car. i call bebe and say i need you ASAP.
long story short...he is ok now. he spent all day @ the regular vet back on the IV. he seems to be doing well...he has meds and special food. they say dogs that get pancreatitis tend to get it again. let's hope not. i am already thinking about whether i should have a car wash or a bake sale to raise funds for his hospital stay. or maybe ellis could have a lemonade stand??
oh my gosh...tell bebe to call me when she heads over to the clinic...i'll meet her there...after morgan and avery's charity lemo stand for maj!!! glad ya'll are all ok!!! that is traumatic!!
