babies, babies everywhere

two great friends of mine are having babies within a week of me :) so fun right??? i actually have more than 20 friends who are due within a month of me...but we will focus on just two here because i helped give a shower for them a week ago!!! it is the first baby for both of them...so everything is new and exciting!!

sadly i didn't get any pics of the moms to be!!! i was emailed some but i can't save them to my computer :( it was fun...can't wait to meet both of those babies!!! and a special thanks to susie (brandon's mom) for letting us use her AMAZING home. it would have taken me days to get my house shower ready...it is truly amazing the mess that two children create on a daily basis. and i am going to have 3?

just one more thing to add to my growing to-do list...

emery's baby book came in...and i LOVE it!! i have to thank tiffany for finding the place i ordered from. if you can get past the terribly nerdy website name, the lady does a fabulous job :) tons of fabrics, fonts, thread colors, etc. to choose from. you even get to pick the "theme" for the interior pages. emery's is oatmeal linen w/ petal pink thread for the monogram...love it!

emery because i love it.  catherine because it's my mom's first name.  i would probably be in a looney bin somewhere w/out her around!!!  hopefully that wouldn't really be the case...but i am sooo not ready to find out!!!   she is the biggest help in the world, and i am SO lucky to have her :)

pink...gone forever?

big news...ellis woke up one day about 2 weeks ago and declared that pink was no longer her favorite color. purple is #1 in her heart now. and sometimes blue. i thought it was maybe just a 2 day phase...nope.  the color purple is where it's at :)  

so this means that instead of using one drop of red food coloring to change her white ice cream to pink, we now get to use red and blue drops.  that's right...i have to change her ice cream to purple.  the same goes for the icing on cinnamon rolls.  and cupcakes.  also, she doesn't like to cheat on her favorite color.  meaning, she doesn't want to wear pink these days.  this presents a problem because her entire closet is pink!!!  purple outfits are at the top of her birthday list (her request).  

she wants a purple pony birthday party.  i am using her idea, but she will actually be having a rodeo themed party.  and she is ok with that because she associates the rodeo with taylor swift (who she saw there last year).  anyways...long story short...take a gander @ the new cowgirl boots bebe and bo bought her.  wowza.  she thinks they are pretty fabulous :)

emery's debut

i am a total sucker for the 3D ultrasound!! i have had it done with all 3 of my babies. and i must say, miss emery was the PERFECT model...she stayed still, facing the "camera" the entire time...moving her hands just when we needed her to!! she is already such a good baby :) even though my doctor does 3D in her office with my regular ultrasounds, i love going to this place...where they spend as long as it takes to get pictures. plus, this time i have a certain almost 4 year old little girl who was THRILLED to be there to see baby sister in action...so fun!!!

Who Dat!

don't ask me what that means...but brandon has beckett yelling it for the saints game (jokingly)...who knew they were such fans?? and in honor of the saints game, we picked up crawfish for the first time this season from zydeclaws ...SOO delicious!!!

anyways...we pulled beckett's high chair up to the table while we ate and gave him some yogurt to keep him busy. he quickly asked for some crawfish and we kinda ignored him...thinking there was no way we were giving him spicy ass crawfish. and no way he would even like it if we did right?? but he kept begging so i peeled him one. HE LOVED IT. he probably ate a pound of crawfish!!! and the sausage & potatoes. it was hilarious. when it would get too spicy, he would ask for a napkin and wipe his tongue...then dive back in for more. he is his father's son.

who would have guessed the boy who won't eat a grilled cheese sandwich to save his life would love crawfish?!?!

long time no blog

sorry i have been M.I.A...but i have been busy! first, i had the pleasure of dealing with this:we had a leak in ellis' room...what a pain in the ass. as you can see, EVERYTHING had to be moved out!

then miss ellis had a urinary tract infection...i was in my car @ 3:30 a.m. looking for a 24 hour clinic. good times.

today was brandon's b-day and all seems back to normal...i am getting things organized slowly but surely...only 2 months away from becoming a family of 5. wow...how scary does that sound?

i will leave you with a little something ellis said the other day :) i picked her up from a party...and was asking her how it was, who she played w/,etc. she said, "i didn't play with amy*"...i asked, why not?...to which ellis replied, "because she was wearing orange and sucking on her fingers"

enough said. amy* was used to protect the innocent!

i was going to do the 12 days of christmas, ellis style...but time slipped away from me...so here is a quick recap of her cute christmas wardrobe. i unfortunatley didn't get pictures of all her attire :(

@ santa brunch...i am obsessed with this one! hope emery loves it :)

before sunday school, christmas week...she REALLY hated this one. so did brandon. he said it looked like she was wearing pajamas :) it was smocked too...i guess the pants are slightly overboard...would have looked cuter w/ jeans :) oh, and i had to let her open a present to get her to wear it!

it is really hard for ellis to accept the fact that christmas colors are red and green...so she is THRILLED when i find a shirt like this...

we went and had christmas manicures...that would be a tree on her thumb :)

stacked

i started organizing the nursery on sunday. my friend michelle has been sending ellis home from school (our oldest kids are in class together) with diapers left over from her sweet daughter julia. as she would send them my way, i would put them all in emery's closet. i finally sat down and went through them...putting the diapers in neat little stacks...to wait there in the armoire until her spring arrival :)

can you believe how many there are?!?! (15 in a stack) X (8 stacks/shelf) X (4 shelves)= a shitload of diapers!!!
so from what i remember, newborns go through about 8 diapers/day. which means michelle has emery's tush covered for about the first 8 weeks of her life!!! so effing awesome :) thanks again m!

meet lucy

ellis has a new love in her life...and her name is lucy :) she is a teeny tiny maltipoo that we picked up on friday from a breeder. lucy isn't EXACTLY ellis' dog though...i haven't completley lost my mind!!! she belongs to bebe and bo. ellis thinks lucy is her baby. for real. she doesn't want anyone else holding her...or even looking her way really. she basically hasn't left her side since friday @ 2:30 when lucy rode home in her lap from tomball :) she is SO cute!!! obviously, beckett is allowed nowhere near her. he would crush her.

i should also note that leroy, our 18 yr old mutt, was put to sleep the week before christmas :( just in case someone was wondering if my parents now had 3 dogs...nope, only when they take the maj for the weekend to austin...

this is as close as it gets for him...and he is okay w/ that. he just loves her kennel...something new to climb on...

christmas morning was oh so fun...every year better than the last. ellis was totally into it...her favorite part was passing out the presents to each person...she took her job very seriously at every house they opened gifts. "the situation" (my latest nickname for beckett...jersey shore anyone?) would have been happy with just the santa pez dispenser that was in his stocking. it was like crack to him. they were of course way spoiled by everyone...thank you bebe & bo and su su & nish!!!

he has no idea what to do w/ this...but he is excited to show it to me...

she officially has every single my little pony item on the market...

over @ bebe & bo's, the roller coaster was a HUGE hit. thanks elizabeth!! beckett didn't really understand the taking turns part of the toy...

and on another note, only my mom would have a christmas robe :)

if he didn't like the wrapping paper, he wouldn't open it. seriously!! he would say, "beckett no like it"...and put it down...this one, he liked!

christmas night was spent @ su su & nish's house...all of my family was invited too which is so great...we all have fun together :) as you can see, ellis wore her evening jewelry...all of it!
