the greatest (and most expensive) show on earth!

no...this is not a fourth of july post!!  the kids (ok...ellis) decided that red was the color of the circus and the others followed suit.  they were SO excited!!!  

i am just back from a ranch weekend where those sequined headbands came in VERY handy :)  more on that later...

 this week she told me to get out of her room..."me get dressed by myself".  i watched as she drug a little ladder over to her closet and started perusing through all of her clothes.  i made some suggestions that were quickly shot down...and then waited until she settled on her outfit of choice for the day.  it was pink :)
 

all of this was learned from ellis!!!  yippee

shiloh returns

unless you live under a rock, you know who shiloh jolie-pitt is!!!  brad and angelina's first born biological child :)  she has gone from an adorably gorgeous toddler to a frightening tomboy (i read too much US weekly).  it truly terrifies me to see pictures of her now.  how, how, how???  i sometimes call emery "shiloh" when she acts (or especially dresses) like beckett.  the following progression (seen in pictures below) WILL NOT HAPPEN to em :)

i told emery to go get her clothes on the other morning.  she came back straight faced in this outfit...all from beckett's closet...including underwear.  she even has her hands in her pockets like a dude!  no ma'am!

i should also mention that i caught her trying to tee tee facing the potty standing up like beckett...noooooo!!!!!

girl's day!

i am taking advantage of ellis being home this summer!!!  we have special days where just she and i go shopping, get nails done...really, whatever she wants :)  the end of august will be here soon and she will be back in full time school...boooo :(

we headed to the galleria (duh).  this time, i got to go to claire's with her... lucky me :)  and the earrings she picked did not disappoint.  i mean, really??  i told her they were ONLY for dress up AT HOME.

tip:  if you are in the dressing room long enough @ neiman's, they provide a coloring book, crayons, and refreshments for your child :)  lovely.  i knew i loved that store.

we shopped, ate (i won't say where), and then left for pedicures.  when i told her to pick a color, she said she had something special in mind.  oh yeah, what's that?

back in session!

as of last week, school is back in session!!!  so very thankful too because it has been raining EVERYDAY!!!  we have all caught cabin fever :)   ALL THREE of them are going tuesdays and thursdays...yeehaw!

it was emery's first day of school EVER!!!  she was a brave little gal and barely cried.  took her nap (in panties!)...no accidents...loved it!!!  she has been begging to go to school for almost a year...crying as her brother and sister loaded into the car on their merry way...while she stayed home with her sitter.  

she was SO EXCITED!

she is sooo dang funny...and cute :)

and then there's this one.  do you remember the good old days...where i dressed ellis SO super cute?  i have totally lost her.  i have to give her a little freedom when it comes to her clothes (or her "style" as she calls it)...and this is the result:

bebe had just taken her to claire's where she bought those fab madonna gloves...

and this cutie patootie :)  he is obsessed with his summer school class...literally runs down the hall to get there.  i am a little depressed tonight because his dad took him today and had his hair CHOPPED :(

p.s...doesn't em have the best tan?  i swear i use sunscreen!!!!!

lake weekend!!!

i love that i have friends with lake houses, beach houses, bay houses, ranches, farms, etc.  i love even more that my friends invite me to them :)  we took a 3 hour drive to lake murvaul (pretty sure i butchered that spelling) this past weekend.  we left the rain behind us and enjoyed 3 sunny days on boats, tubes, jet skis, etc.  the kids LOVED it.  i wasn't sure how emery would react...first boat ride and all.  she was thrilled about it all!!!!!
