happy go texan day

their rodeo lunch @ school isn't until next week...so expect another "texan" post then :) she put this little number together...hopefully i will have a little more control over the next one!

baby jesus

i give beckett a bad rap on here...but he truly is the funniest, sweetest kid ever. don't get me wrong, he is still "bad"...but not in a mean spirited way ever. just in an "i don't give a shit that you have told me no 17 times, i am still doing it" kinda way. the truth is that i don't know what i would do without the entertainment he provides me on a daily basis :)

over christmas he took a liking to baby jesus. stories about him, songs about him, etc. he really loved seeing him in people's front yards...and in the live nativity. he also spent a lot of time pretending to be baby jesus. in fact, he still pretends to be baby jesus all of the time. here he is in action just the other day:

the chik- fil-a cow is another hero of beckett's. when someone asks him who is in my tummy, he says emery. but then he lets them know that the "chik fil a moo cow" is in his tummy. he is completely crazy and i love it!

getting in some practice...

little emmy was born a little over 2 weeks ago...isn't she a cutie?!?! i took ellis with me last week when i went to meet her for the first time...there was no way she was letting me go w/ out her!! she held emmy for 30 minutes before letting someone else have a turn...and 5 minutes later asked to have her back. i am afraid she is never going to put emery down!!!! and you know what that means...since the tiny devil wants to do everything his sister does, he is going to want to hold her too. not good.

when ellis is on "beckett's bike" (as he refers to it) and beckett decides he wants to ride it, he doesn't wait his turn. nope...he just takes matters into his own hands and gets on the back. she HATES this!! she puts up with it for a few minutes but then i am sure her legs start to burn from the extra 25 lbs...and then pushes him off. it is entertaining for me to watch this little cycle...over and over and over...

these pics were after a valentine playdate...when i put the pink shirt on him that morning he said "no...no...this is ellis' shirt...it's for girls" but he will play with ponies all day long...and beg for her sparkly purple lip gloss :)

last ultrasound EVER!!!

i had my last ultrasound ever yesterday (i am for sure jinxing myself right?!?)...all is well...she is weighing in at just over 4 lbs. she has big kissable cheeks (just like ellis did) and hair!!! and would you believe she is freaking breech?? not that it matters at all in my case...she might as well be!! but this is my 3rd breech baby! my kids just don't like to be upside down :)

6 weeks from tomorrow i will be a proud mother of THREE!!! eeeeeeeek!

valentines day...

was spent w/ our little valentines :) beckett had a bowl full of jelly beans in front of him by 9 a.m. (thanks to his daddy)...so he was a happy boy. he loves candy...he has an obsession with it actually. all day long he kept asking "where my beans?"...ALL DAY LONG. you see, by 9:30 a.m. he had poured an entire bottle of bubbles into his bowl of beans. so his sweet sister shared hers.

his shirt says cupid is my homeboy. target :)

i usually find beckett on his bike somewhere in the house. sometimes he is just standing on the seat...about to cause serious injury to himself...but he is on the bike.

we dropped beckett off @ bebe and bo's for lunch and a nap...he just isn't ready for something like this...and took ellis down to texas women's hospital for a sibling class, or a big sister class as we call it around these parts :) it was SOOOO cute!!!

first they picked a baby...bet ya can't guess which one she chose...remember how she wanted to be rihanna?

after i explained to her that another classmate might want that baby (we were the first ones there), she ended up w/ this one...

they learned what toys are safe for baby, that you have to ask permission to hold baby, wash your hands, etc. here she is changing a diaper...taking it VERY SERIOUSLY!

and learning how to swaddle the baby. brandon is an EXPERT SWADDLER!!!

look who took the class with her...the leaman girls!!! they are also expecting a baby sister. so fun!! this was before they got to tour the hospital...including the nursery :)

after 2 birthday parties on saturday and a full day on sunday, this valentine was TIRED!

the sweetest room

it's tiny...but oh so sweet. and 99% ready. i mean, it is ready...i just have a couple of pictures i want to switch out of frames. not a ton has changed since miss ellis slept here. the diaper pin on the wall is new...it ties in w/ the armoire that is also a new addition. i put up some shelves and of course painted the monogram on the wall. take a peek...i love sitting in here :)

i painted that chandelier by hand @ 8 mos pregnant with ellis...using the ceiling paint. more time consuming than you would imagine!!!
the little dress she will wear for 3 month pictures :) i found ellis one that goes w/ it SO perfectly. the same exact linen with a little lavender ruffle at the top...because, as we all know...purple is her love now.
ok...onto my next project!!!!!

sugar wouldn't melt

my playgroup/bunko girls threw a baby shower for me last week. and my mom said it best..."these girls are so sweet, sugar wouldn't melt in their mouths" :) an old southern saying i think! when they first came to me with the idea, i said "absolutely not!!! not for a 3rd child!!!" but they insisted...saying every baby needs the "shower page" in their baby book filled. this is seriously the most thoughtful group of girls...they went above and beyond the call of duty :)

sit down homemade dinner...yum! lots of wine...and moeller's petit fours for dessert!! double yum.

diaper cake :) i just love those!! w/ a big fat target gift card!!! who doesn't love those!!!!!!!?????
then each girl had made a page to go in a book they gave emery...so so so sweet!!!!

the book...i can't even tell you how cute and creative each page is!!! especially bebe's (wink wink!)...but she makes up for her non-craftiness in soooo many others ways :)

emery also came home w/ books, darling little clothes, bibs, etc. and i came home with a GORGEOUS bracelet that has all 3 kids names on it...some people are so talented :) i am only the second one of the group to have a third baby...i told them they would all have to follow suit so i could pay them back!!!

toot, toot

that is the sound of me tooting my own horn :) i worked on two projects super bowl sunday...and now i shall show them off! first up is an old window. my mom bought this a few years back for ellis' room...i updated it and put it in emery's nursery...here it is filled with pictures of her biggest fans :) the fabric in the other 3 panes is the same fabric from the crib bedding...

next up was a monogram over her bed. i am over the wooden letters above the crib thing. i still think they are totally cute...but i have done them twice...time for something new!!! i decided i would paint her monogram on the wall above the crib. i didn't know if it would work out...but i had nothing to lose. i knew i could always just paint over it if it was THAT bad :) here it is...

i kinda cheated :) here is how i did it...

i took her baby book and photocopied the monogram on the cover...then had it blown up on card stock @ kinkos...

i then cut them out and taped them above the crib. then traced them onto the wall. then removed them.

then filled in the lines using an itty bitty brush with the same paint as the ceiling paint in the room...and p.s.- the color in this picture is not the color in real life...just a bad pic.it actually looks better in person...i am REALLY close to being finished with the room...a few more small things to do and i am calling it complete :) she will be here SO soon...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
