pumpkin patch- take 2

our second pumpkin patch trip was more successful...we stayed and played for over an hour...brought a blanket and the essentials- snacks & drinks :) why is it that children go more than 30 minutes w/out needing something to drink or snack on?

ellis picked out her pumpkin right away...

beckett ran into one of his homies from music class...

beckett never stops moving so it is almost impossible to get good pictures of him!!!

i randomly had a shirt in beckett's closet that went cute w/ pinkie pie's. too bad the pictures below were about as good as it got for one together!!! horrible :(

pumpkin patch- trip #1

this was our first trip to a pumpkin patch this year...pretty uneventful. i don't even like any of the pictures i got!! beckett looks like charlie from willy wonka...his hair is sad and he looks a little disheveled. he had also scraped his face on the concrete the day before. i was proud of him for keeping the scarf on though :)

don't even get me started on the outfit ellis wore. i can't believe i put her in something SO boring!!!

i swear he wore a scarf @ some point in that movie :)

sweet & sassy...

...is where ellis FINALLY got her first haircut :)  it took some convincing, but she finally decided she was ready.  it wasn't even that she really needed one...her hair curls up to just below her shoulders.  it just started seeming a little white trash that she had never had one.

of course i wanted it to be fun for her so i took her to a really cute place in the woodlands...basically a salon made for spoiled little girls :)  they play fun music, use pink capes, and douse them in princess glitter.  she loved every minute of it.  beckett joined in the fun...getting into trouble the whole time.  pics are below...and there is no after picture of the haircut because she looks NO different.   it will probably be another year before she has another one :)

...these monsters are sweet!!!

i mean come on...how cute are they?!?! originally they were going to be a devil and an angel. it would have been cute but beckett HATED his costume...really hated it. a few days later, i was at children's place and saw these costumes...i was so happy...because you know i have to have coordinating costumes for them as if they were twins :) the only size they had in the pink was 18-24 month...so weird but it fits perfectly! the devil went back. AND since i procrastinated, the costumes were already marked 50% off. they were $12 each!!! i am sure i will sell them on ebay next year for triple that :)

another bonus is that beckett can't get enough of this costume. he wants to put it on everyday and dance to the monster mash. ellis is thrilled with hers too...pink and purple w/ hearts painted on her face...what's not to love?

so if you run into these monsters on halloween night...be not afraid...they don't bite :)

he really does sleep at school :)

the joys of having a daughter

p.s...i just looked @ their school pics online...pretty stinkin' cute. but i was right- she was sweating her ass off :) and beckett's hair was out of control. oh well. as soon as i figure out how to get them on here, i will do just that!!

football & food

ellis loved going to the texas game...all of the terrible food she got to have while there had nothing to do with it :) she had popcorn, a corn dog, cotton candy, ice cream (it was 50 something degrees), and wanted a snow cone. i need to mention that she only had probably 3 bites of each thing. except the ice cream. that was totally gone.

she mainly looked thru the binoculars for cheerleaders, bevo, and bevo w/ the shirt on (the one that is actually a person inside).

she LOVES the idea of cotton candy...but she only eats a few bites :)

the ice cream they serve @ the stadium is dippin dots...that really weird ice cream made of tiny circles. she didn't have a problem with it...but when brandon gave it to her she said "where is the ice cream?"...he said "this is the ice cream"...ellis then says with excitement..."the SPRINKLES are the ice cream?"

what a happy day she had!! and yesterday was pretty fabulous too...the horns beat the sooners in a very scary game. hook 'em! i wonder if we will get to play for a national championship? since i am pregnant and unable to drink, the answer is probably yes.

weekends are for texas games :)

we were in austin again last weekend for the texas v. colorado game. and it was cold!!! the kids were in sweaters and the outdoor heaters were in high gear. i actually had to go out on saturday morning and get ellis tights to wear under her cheerleading uniform. this was her first game of the season to attend...she was in heaven.

hook em' horns!!! let's hope tomorrow goes well for us :) brandon is there w/ the boys...ou weekend is not as much fun pregnant....

gumbo & chili

beckett had his first bowl of both this week...and he LOOOOVED them. ellis took one look @ the gumbo and said no thanks. i asked her what was wrong...told her she used to love gumbo...she said "that was when i forgotted there was meat and green things in it."

ellis attended her first UT game of the season this past weekend...will post on that soon :)

it's beginning to look a lot like halloween around here!

we hung the spider web :) and if you look close @ the pic, you will notice ellis helped while wearing only panties. i think i counted 18 mosquito bites when it was all said and done...

after bathtime, they wanted to see the spiders again...i had to snap a pic of their pumpkin jammies (beckett calls them punks) that bebe found @ marshalls. speaking of marshalls...i am loving that store! i got ellis true religion jeans there for $15 (regular $80)...she is set for the next few years in that department...such a deal! and then...just today, my mom came home w/ lelli kellys (for ellis) from there...for $35!!! if you have a daughter, you probably know what those are :) so cute.

here is ellis by the "big punk" as beckett calls it. he won't go near it...i had seen this idea in a magazine...take 3 mini-punks and paint B-O-O on them...the glitter was my own idea :) cute right? i have them on my mantle...

and i can't do a craft w/ out ellis wanting in on the action....here is her masterpiece in progress. wow. don't be jealous.

tongue is out...total concentration. she spent close to 3 hours on it...

kids make holidays SOOOOOO much fun!!!

school pictures were yesterday (beckett) and today (ellis). of course, i had to dress ellis in something special...beckett, not so much. what can you really do with a boy?? get crazy w/ a striped polo? anyways...i snapped a couple of pics myself...just in case they weren't feeling it for the photographer :)

the boy...who by the way now loves to call me brandy...no idea how this started!!!

and here is pinkie pie (w/ beckett who looks homeless). poor thing...i am sure she was sweating her ass off. you gotta work to be beautiful though :)
