halloween came early

bebe called while i was in the car w/ the kids on the way home from school today. she had some VERY exciting news...she had found a pink wig for ellis :) she had been on the lookout for one because she just knew ellis would love it. she was SO right. we called bebe as soon as we got home and she brought it over...ellis only knew that bebe had a surprise for her (which is an almost everyday occurance). bebe first pulled out a purple wig...ellis was impressed but said she wished it was pink. then of course, bebe pulled out the pink wig. oh the joy on her face. it was as if she had won the lottery. a $5 wig from walmart. so can you guess who got to wear the purple wig???

then he wanted to wear the pink wig. he knows and loves the color pink...no idea how :)

game day

ESPN college game day...have you heard of it? if you come from a shitty football school, maybe not :) just kidding. the longhorns just so happen to be awesome...so the tx tech/ut game was the game of the week...which means ESPN broadcasts the show from the location of the game. and since we are awesome parents, we took the kiddos to gameday.

of course, texas is awesome almost every year...so this was not the first time gameday had made it to austin. but it was the first time we weren't too hungover to make it :) the kids loved it...there was so much to see...including the cheerleaders and bevo up close and personal. here are a few pictures from our time spent on campus...

go horns! and just because i can laugh about this now- brandon got kicked out of the football game after being inside the stadium for less than 30 seconds. i wonder how many years it will take for him to understand that alcohol is NOT ALLOWED in the stadium. seriously.

teeny tiny puppies

the sunday of labor day weekend, we went to my cousin's house in austin to meet their new puppies!!! they had just come home w/ them hours before...and they are PRECIOUS! one is a morkie (maltese/yorkie) and one is a full bred yorkie...a tea cup yorkie to be exact...like a mini maj. ellis and beckett LOVED these puppies. beckett thought they were hilarious...but we had to keep him away. i am pretty sure one of them would have met an untimely death if he were allowed to "play" with them. the yorkie was only 1 lb! and won't get over 3. here are a couple of pictures...so cute! and i am just now noticing ellis doesn't have a bow in these pics!!! craziness.

i mean come on...how stinkin' cute is this outfit?? from the huge ass bow up top right down to the leopard flats. it screams first day of school...especially with that monogram. but...i was denied. she stuck her nose right up at this outfit i had picked out for her. she "didn't want her friends to see her in yellow". i had to promise her that she could pick out every outfit for school next week all by herself...and that she could have a cookie at the club tonight :)

she wanted me to just take a picture of her posing while catching the end of super readers...that did not suffice! you can see how cute the flats are here though :)

beckett's first day of school was today :) can you hear the angels singing? because i can.

i could hear him start crying as i walked away. and between the hours of 9 and 2:30 p.m, i kept waiting for a call. come pick up your cry baby kid! thankfully, that call never came :) at pick up, the teachers said he was a total flirt. no surprise there...beckett is a smiler...everyone knows that. they also said he slept on his napmat. it surprised me when ellis did it and i am even more surprised by beckett. i didn't even ask how long he slept...didn't want to seem anal on the first day!! of course, he also cried periodically throughout the day...normal. anyways..it was a success!

look @ his GINORMOUS backpack!! when i put it on him, he fell over. but his napmat, lunch, 3 diapers, and a change of clothes all fit in there...no complaints from me :) i think he is practicing his "hook 'ems" in this picture...told you, days away from mastering!

here he is @ school w/ his gal pal kate...so what if they are only a week apart and she is 16 feet taller than him :)

and tomorrow is the first day for ellis...she doesn't go on tuesdays...that is our "girl day". she was pissed when she saw men in the restaurant we ate @ after ballet today. i don't think she quite understands :) anyways...she has already changed her mind on the outfit 3 times. i am going to need an extra dose of patience in the morning!!!

first game

labor day weekend always means the kickoff to the UT football season :) so so so much fun. every season is more fun than the one before...as the kids get older. ellis is seriously crazy for the university of texas. bevo, burnt orange, football players, cheer-a-leaders, etc. you have never seen anything like it. she is serious about the longhorns and was HEARTBROKEN to have to miss the game. you see, bo (my dad) has 4 season tickets to the games...and she just didn't make the cut this game!!! she will get to go to one soon...but we won't hear the end of it until it happens. beckett just runs around like crazy chasing after his football. he does show an early love for UT just like ellis did..he is days away from perfecting his hook 'em and is obsessed with bevo. i have a feeling it will be a fun season :)

and on a related note...me, my mom and ellis were on the back patio this weekend in austin. ellis was playing with one of her 20 pinkie pies she keeps at the house there. she says "ok...pinkie pie needs to go to the liquor store to get more pink lemonade"...me and my mom just look at eachother...like, did she really just say that? i ask ellis "where is pinkie pie going?...i couldn't hear you"...and ellis says "to the liquor store". lovely.

back to school

summer is almost officially over for us :( we are off to austin for labor day weekend...hook em'!...and then tuesday the kids go back to school!!! well, ellis goes back to school... and beckett goes to school for the first time...which should go over really well. he is going to hate me for sure. but i am so ready to be back in a routine!! ellis is going to preschool 3 days a week and beckett will go to mother's day out 2 days a week (at the same school). ballet (ellis) has already started and kindermusic (beckett) starts next week...trying to keep us busy and out of the house. i am so over having to pick up my house 18 times a day.

anyways...back to school for me means getting to pick out fun gear for the kids...with their help, of course :) it's not my fault ellis missed the aisle @ target where they keep the sleeping beauty backpacks...here are a few cute things...

the sweetest words

beckett says "i love you" a lot lately.  i am pretty positive he has no idea what it means...but it is the cutest thing ever :)  he is just as sweet as he is wild!

he is also kinda crazy about pinkie pie (wants to be like his big sis).  he talks about "pinkie pie" non-stop...bebe even bought him his own pinkie pie because somebody wouldn't let him play w/ any of hers...i mean, she only has about 20 of them... clearly not enough to share :)
